Bits and Pieces

Something to make you stop and think!!

> >> LET IT REALLY SINK IN - THEN CHOOSE.
>>>>>
John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a
good
mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would
ask
him
how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be
twins!"
He was a natural motivator.
If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling
the
employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went
up
and
asked him, "I don't get it!

You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you
do
it?"

He replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you
have
two
choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can
choose
to be in a bad mood.

I choose to be in a good mood."

Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim
or...I
can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to
accept
their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life.
I
choose the positive side of life.

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.

"Yes, it is," he said. "Life is all about choices. When you
cut
away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you
react
to situations. You choose how people affect your mood.

You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom
line:
It's
your choice how you live your life."

I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the
Tower
Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often
thought
about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to
it.

Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a
serious
accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he
was
released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.

I saw him about six months after the accident.

When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any
better,
I'd
be twins...Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had
gone
through his mind as the accident took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was the
well-being of
my
soon-to-be born daughter," he replied. "Then, as I lay on the
ground, I
remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I
could
choose to die. I chose to live."

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.

He continued, "..the paramedics were great.

They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they
wheeled
me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the
doctors and
nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead
man'. I
knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at
me,"
said
John. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes, I replied.'
The
doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I
took a
deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity'."

Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live.
Operate
on me as if I am alive, not dead."

He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also
because of
his amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have
the
choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will
worry
about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

You have two choices now:

01. Delete this.
02. Or copy and paste this and send it to all you care about.

Keep warm or cool where ever you may be and please stay safe..

 JUst to clear things UP!!

Prison vs. Work
Just in case you ever go the two mixed up, this should
make things a bit more clear...

In prison you spend the majority of your time in an 8x10 cell.

At work you spend most of your time in a 6x8 cubicle.

In prison you get 3 meals a day.

At work you get a break for 1 meal and you have to pay for it.

In prison you get time off for good behavior. At work you get rewarded for good behavior with more work.

In prison you can watch TV and play games. At work you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

In prison a guard locks, unlocks, opens and closes all doors for you.

At work you must carry around a security card and unlock and open all doors yourself.

In prison you get your own toilet.

At work you have to share.

In prison they allow you to visit your family and friends.

At work you can't even speak to family and friends.

In prison all expenses are paid by taxpayers, with no work required.

At work, you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for the prisoners.

In prison you spend most of your life looking through bars from the inside wanting to get out.

At work you spend most of your time wanting to get out and inside bars.

In prison you can join many programs that you can leave at any time.

At work there are some programs you can never get out of.

In prison there are wardens who are often sadistic and psychotic.

At work we call them managers!

Hmmm...which sounds better

 Seize The Day !!

To all My Fellow Bloggers!!!

READ THIS VERY SLOWLY... IT'S PRETTY PROFOUND.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. >From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word "refrigeration" mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, "How about going to lunch in a half hour?" She would gas up and stammer, "I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain." And my personal favorite: "It's Monday." .She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going to," "I plan on," and "Someday, when things are settled down a bit."

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to......not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, "We'll do it tomorrow." And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say "Hi"?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND. If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

To those I have sent this to... I cherish our friendship and appreciate all you do.

"Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!"

Keep warm or Cool what ever you got to do and Please Stay safe...
