Bits and Pieces

 "Close Your Eyes"

And go back with me in time

Before the Internet or the MAC,
Before semi automatics and crack

Before chronic and indo
Before SEGA or Super Nintendo

Way back........

I'm talkin' bout hide and go seek at dusk.

Sittin' on the porch,
Hot bread and butter.

Eatin' a 'super dooper sandwich',
Red light, Green light.

Chocolate milk, Lunch tickets,
Penny candy in a brown paper bag.

Hopscotch, butterscotch, doubledutch
Jacks, kickball, dodgeball, y'all!

Mother, May I?

Hula Hoops and Sunflower Seeds,
Jaw breakers, blowpops, Mary Janes,

Running through the sprinkler (I can't get wet! All
right, well don't wet my hair....)
The smell of the sun and lickin' salty lips....

Wait......

Catchin' lightening bugs in a jar,
Playin sling shot and Red Rover.

When around the corner seemed far away,
And going downtown seemed like going somewhere.

Bedtime, Climbing trees,

A million mosquito bites and sticky fingers,

Cops and Robbers,
Cowboys and Indians,
Sittin on the curb,
Jumpin down the steps,
Jumpin on the bed.

Pillow fights

Being tickled to death

Runnin till you were out of breath

Laughing so hard that your stomach hurt
Being tired from playin'.... Remember that?

I ain't finished just yet...

What about the girl that had the big bubbly hand writing??

Licking the beaters when your mother made a cake.

Didn't that feel good.. just to go back and say, Yeah,
I remember that!

There's nothing like the good old days! They were good
then, and they're good now when we think about them.

Share some of these thoughts with a friend who can relate.

One can't be serious ALL the time, eh?

Remember when...

When there were two types of sneakers for girls and boys
(Keds & PF Flyers), and the only time you wore them at
school, was for "gym."

When nearly everyone's mom was at home when the kids
got there.

When nobody owned a purebred dog.

When a quarter was a decent allowance, and another
quarter a huge bonus.

When you'd reach into a muddy gutter for a penny.

When girls neither dated nor kissed until late high
school, if then.

When your mom wore nylons that came in two pieces.

When all of your male teachers wore neckties and female
teachers had their hair done, everyday.

When you got your windshield cleaned, oil checked,
and gas pumped, without asking, for free, every time.
And, you didn't pay for air.

And, you got trading stamps to boot!

When laundry detergent had free glasses, dishes or
towels hidden inside the box.

When any parent could discipline any kid, or feed him
or use him to carry groceries, and nobody, not even the
kid, thought a thing of it.

When it was considered a great privilege to be taken out
to dinner at a real restaurant with your parents.

When they threatened to keep kids back a grade if they
failed ... and did!

When being sent to the principal's office was nothing
compared to the fate that awaited a misbehaving student
at home.

Basically, we were in fear for our lives but it wasn't
because of drive by shootings, drugs, gangs, etc.
Disapproval of our parents and grandparents was a much
bigger threat.

So tell me what did you remember???

You all have a wonderful SUnday and stay safe and keep warm or cool which ever it may be..
Catch ya'll on the flip side.. Gloria

 Hey

HEY

A Newfie walked into a bank in Toronto and asked for the loans officer. He told the loans officer that he was going to Newfoundland on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000 however he was not a depositor of the bank. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Newfie handed over the keys to a new Ferrari. The car was parked on the street in front of the bank. The Newfie produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to hold the car as collateral for the loan and apologized for having to charge 12% interest.

Later, the bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Newfie for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral for a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank's underground garage and parked it. Two weeks later, the Newfie returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest of $23.07. The loan officer said, 'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?'

The Newfie replied: 'Where else in Toronto can I park my car for two weeks for only $23.07 and expect it to be there when I return?'

Ah, Newfies..... See! Salt Beef is good for the brain. Only IN CANADA EH??????????

 Prescribed by the Great Physician

I GOT THIS IN A EMAIL AND JUST KNEW IT SHOULD BE HERE.
AGAIN TAKE WHAT YOU LIKE AND LEAVE THE REST!!!!!!!

*****************************
The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just
remember.
Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal
Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt
Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
Zaccheus was too small
Paul was too religious
Timothy had an ulcer..AND
Lazarus was dead!
And Don't forget
Jesus Helped them all!!!!
Now! No more excuses!
God can use you to your full potential.
Besides you aren't the message, you are just the
messenger.
And one more thing...Share this with a friend or
two...
In the Circle of God's love, God's waiting to use your
full potential.

1. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.

2. Dear God, I have a problem, it's Me.

3. There is no key to happiness. The door is always
open.

4. Silence is often misinterpreted but never
misquoted.

7. Do the math ... count your blessings.

8. Faith is the ability to not panic.

9. If you worry, you didn't pray . If you pray,
don't worry.

10. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling
home everyday.

11. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be
bent out of shape.

12. The most important things in your house are the
people.

13 When we get tangled up in our problems, be still.
God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.

14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

15 He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

Have a great day!!! The SON is shining and He
can certainly use you!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is
fighting some kind of battle. Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply,
Speak kindly.......
Leave the rest to God.
Love and Prayers Always

Have a wonderful filled Tuesday.. I know i am going to..

1 month Sunday and leave me alone.

Sorry taht I haven't posted in a while. But there has been alot going on in my life My dad passed away 1 month ago this Sunday and I miss him with all my heart and soul.

This has been a very hard experience for me and I have learned alot from it..Its sad that it took my dad dying for me to learn this lesson though.

Again I am being attacked in Private messages.. I am unsure what I have done to make this person be the way he/she is... But I am not going to worry about it anymore as I have taken the steps to make sure that the proper people know and the matter will take care of itself I guess

Its really to bad you know that we can't come here and write on OUR blogs what we like and have others take what they like and leave the rest.. And if they do not find anything they like just to move on and leave us alone..It feels like we are banging our heads

No wonder so many people have deactivated their blogs.. But then again this person he/she must be sick in the head to make people do just that..They are taking from their real lives and trying to live like that here in the stream and it will just not work...
I feel for this person..

SO Please read from my blog what you like take what you need and leave the rest.
HAve a wonderful Weekend..
